The Hudson School offers a financial aid program to provide assistance to families for whom the tuition may be a significant burden. Requests for financial assistance do not in any way influence admission decisions which are need-blind.

Financial aid awards are determined by the Financial Aid Committee according to demonstrated need and are not related to the academic abilities of students (merit). Families applying for financial aid are required to make honest financial disclosure to the Financial Aid Committee. All information and awards are held in strictest confidence by the Committee and it is expected that families will do the same.


The Hudson School tries to offer financial aid to all students who require it. However, due to limited funds, we require that parents who wish to apply for tuition assistance to complete the TADS application.

  • Families applying for tuition assistance for the 2019-2020 academic year must complete a TADS form, online at or request a paper application from Business Manager Kathy Prussack ( There is an additional $6.00 charge for paper applications. The deadline for returning students is February 1, 2019 and for new students the deadline is February 11, 2019.
  • Submit a copy of your tax return with W-2s with your application to TADS. Do not send your tax returns to The Hudson School. You may submit your 2017 tax return with your application and your 2018 tax return with W-2s when available, but the 2018 tax forms must be submitted to TADS no later than February 26, 2019. TADS will not process your request without supporting tax forms and awards will not be finalized until receipt of 2018 tax returns, so plan on filing your taxes early.
  • Please indicate that you want the financial aid report sent to The Hudson School. Our school code is NJ301620000. You may also have reports sent to other schools to which your child may be applying. There is no additional fee required for multiple reports.
  • Non-custodial and parents with joint custody must complete separate financial aid (TADS) applications.
  • Children from the same family applying for financial assistance may be listed on the same form.

Notification of tuition aid grants for timely applications are expected to be delivered by the first week of March, 2019, subject to confirmation with 2018 tax returns.  Late applications will only be considered if funds are available. Priority will be given to families of current students, after which new families will be considered. Upon acceptance of the grant, parents will be expected to remit a non-refundable deposit of $750 to hold a child’s place in the school for the 2019-2020 academic year.

The following supporting documentation must be submitted to TADS prior to the
application due date:

Household members’ most recently completed federal tax forms (personal and businesses owned)

  • W-2’s from each job held by household members
  • Documents that establish the amount of miscellaneous monthly or yearly income you currently receive (i.e., welfare, food stamps, unemployment, workers’ compensation, etc.,)
  • All corporate, partnership, and trust forms if a household member owns 20% or more interest in a corporation, partnership or trust
