Leadership: June 19-July 20

with Ms. Amanda Sawyer-Dedimus Potestatem
June 19-July 20 (Tues and Fri)
Ages 8-13

What do Yoda, Martin Luther King Jr., and Maya Angelou all have in common? Their ability to affect and influence others was unquestionable-but their real power lay in the way they could empower people. People followed Dr. King through torment and peace and were inspired by his example to be catalysts for change. Maya Angelou was an influence and inspiration to both Tupac Shakur and President Barack Obama. Yoda was the oldest and wisest of the Jedi. Come learn to lead the way they did! Students will learn and apply valuable leadership skills like Negotiation, Delegation, Initiative, Adaptability, Conflict Resolution, Communication, Time Management and more. This class will include such activities as:

-Simulations inspired by real negotiated agreements
-Improvisation and other Theater games
-Building with Kinex, Legos and other materials
-Balloon relay races, fencing (with foam lightsabres), dodgeball, and other fun physical team-oriented games
-STEM and science projects with gumdrops, marshmallows and other materials
