Welcome, new faculty/staff member! Beslinda Pazaj – Creative Writing 5, History 5, Homeroom 5, Language Arts 5, Reading 5, 5th Grade Coordinator/Advisor
What attracted you to work for The Hudson School?
I found the diversity and the rigorous academic curriculum of The Hudson School very appealing. I felt (and still feel) that it fit my own professional and academic background. The first time I entered the school, I came across a number of students and faculty in the hallway, who were communicating in different languages. That was it! I felt at home. I was, ultimately, convinced after I substitute taught an American Literature and a 5thgrade class, where I was left in awe of the students’ academic vigor and readiness to participate in discussions.
What would you say most motivates you to do what you do? What are you most excited or passionate about?
I have always been teaching and instructing, both in an academic and in a professional setting, as I have always been passionate about education itself and working with students. I believe that my personal, academic, and professional pursuits, as well as extensive travels enable me to teach in a well-rounded manner, which benefits my students and helps me understand them better.
What are the goals you most want to accomplish in your work — not so much the goals that are in your job description, but the goals you hold personally?
My goal is to reinforce my students’ reading comprehension, writing and communication abilities. I believe every student has a writer in them; hence, giving them the right Language Arts tools will make them not only good writers, but competent and even great communicators.
