The Hudson School is excited to welcome two experienced leaders in education to the team! Tamara Ling joins us as Assistant Head of School for Enrollment Management, and Jamie Nestor joins us as Assistant Head of School for Development.
Tamara Ling joins The Hudson School as Assistant Head of School for Enrollment Management, bringing over a decade of expertise in independent school admissions and community leadership. Her journey into education began in 2009 as an engaged parent volunteer, where her warmth and insight quickly established her as a trusted ambassador for prospective families. In 2014, she formally joined the admissions team at Poly Prep Country Day School, where she rose to the role of Director of Admissions for Lower and Middle School. Tami’s innovative leadership transformed the admissions process—enhancing ambassador programs, co-developing assessment tools with academic teams, and deftly guiding the school through the challenges of pandemic-era virtual admissions. Her ability to blend strategic thinking with a deeply personal touch has made her a widely respected leader in the field.
Before transitioning into education, Tami built a successful career as a public interest lawyer, grounding her professional ethos in service and equity. Beyond her formal roles, Tami has remained a tireless advocate for students and colleagues alike, serving as a faculty advisor to student affinity groups and contributing to institutional initiatives around employee equity and inclusion. Her wide-ranging expertise, deep integrity, and community-minded spirit make her an invaluable addition to The Hudson School’s leadership team. Raised in New Jersey, Tami attended Edison Township public schools. She earned her A.B. cum laude from Bryn Mawr College and her J.D. from Fordham University School of Law.
Jamie Nestor is a seasoned independent school leader with a deep commitment to building strong, mission-aligned communities through strategic advancement and authentic engagement. With more than 15 years of experience in education, Jamie has led initiatives that strengthened donor relationships, increased annual giving participation, and fostered a culture of philanthropy rooted in shared purpose. She believes that fundraising is ultimately about storytelling—connecting people to the heart of a school’s mission and inspiring them to invest in its future.
Prior to joining The Hudson School, Jamie served as Head of Senior School at Sewickley Academy, where she partnered with admissions and advancement to grow enrollment, enhance family engagement, and increase alumni and parent participation in giving campaigns. Her collaborative leadership style and experience across development, admissions, student life, and college counseling give her a unique ability to bridge departments and unite stakeholders around a common vision. Jamie holds a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Columbia University’s Klingenstein Center and a dual degree in Latin and Secondary Education from Boston University. She is also a longtime yoga practitioner, arts enthusiast, and advocate for building inclusive, joyful school communities.
Welcome, Tami and Jamie!
